Your Daily Brush: Welcome Delight into Your Life
Delights can be joyful surprises that boost your emotional well-being. You never know when life serves you up a few, so keep your eyes open and prepare to smile and be uplifted.
Dear Friends,
Easter is a major holiday in Switzerland, even among those who don’t observe it from a religious point of view.
On Good Friday and “Easter Monday” just about all institutions and stores are closed, the result being that many people enjoy a four-day holiday weekend.
Yesterday, I came across this headline below in the Swiss news which made me pause and smile. I am sharing it with you in the hope that it also makes you smile. There must be truth to the phrase “breeding like rabbits” especially at this time of year, as the population of chocolate bunnies in the country well exceeds that of humans.
As eggs are also part of Easter festivities, I am inspired to share with you another Easter delight I came across while walking on a residential street in the town of Wil, in Canton St. Gallen, in the eastern part of the country.
We all know that money does not grow on trees…But here is proof that eggs can and do grow on trees!
Rx: Scan your surroundings and let small delights come into your awareness and uplift your psyche. It might be a humming bird, especially for those of you readers in California or Texas. Or it could be the sun steaming through leaves that are illuminated in a way that highlights its colors. Or it might be the heart-melting cute voice of a young child you happen to hear by chance…(not to be confused with the shrill cry of an unhappy child on a long haul flight when everyone is trying to get some sleep…but I digress…)
Remember, the list of people, moments and things that can delight you is potentially infinite as is your capacity to experience the resulting emotion of delight.
To your health!
