Your Daily Brush: The Sunday-Monday Review to Recommit & Reconnect
Look back and review. Look ahead and recommit to brushing your mind!
Dear Friends,
Once again: Happy Start to the New Week!
Look Back and Savor Your Uplifts
I invite you to review the week behind you and see what stands out for you.
What energized you?
What gave you joy?
What gave you a sense of peace?
From the above, what would you like to carry forward into your coming week?
What can you do intentionally to support your emotional well-being?
What can you do to intentionally add one of more uplifts in the week ahead?
Rx: To help make it happen, write down your answers in your calendar. Making appointments with yourself will increase the likelihood of turning wishes and intentions into action.
Look Ahead and Prepare for Bottlenecks and Challenges
Are there any challenges that you might anticipate in the week ahead? If so, how can you deal with them in a way that supports your sense of calm?
What rewards might you plan for yourself to celebrate your week of active mental hygiene practice?
Stay Connected with People Near and Far
Who are your loved ones that you might want to call, text or write to? Write their names down in your calendar and make appointments with yourself to reach out.
Who can you meet in person and share some joyful moments with?
Who is someone in your work life that you appreciate? Try connecting with this person to get to know them better and foster genuine human connection.
Lastly, I invite you to take thirty to sixty seconds to do a micro-meditation.
Look around you and see what catches your eye and delights you or uplifts you. If you like, you can also look at the image below and do a micro-meditation.
As you do your micro-meditation, remember to take some breaths and exhale longer than you inhale.
That’s it! You are practicing mental hygiene!
To your health!
