Your Daily Brush: Do a Weekend Reset to De-Stress and Start Next Week Afresh
Is there something stressful that you have been putting off? Block time in your calendar and tackle it and you will reduce the number of nagging stressors that take up space in your mind.
Dear Friends,
Wishing you a good weekend!
If you are like most people, you probably have some nagging tasks on your to-do list.
Here is a simple way to boost your emotional health this weekend: Alongside carving out time to rest and recharge, why not schedule an appointment with yourself to take care of something you’ve been avoiding?
Is there a phone call you’ve been putting off? Is there a bill to pay? Or a form to fill out? Or an overdue thank-you note you’ve been meaning to write?
A to-do list with lingering tasks can quietly drain your energy by taking up valuable real-esate in your mind.
Try choosing one or two tasks from your list of nagging items, and block out time to complete them.
Focus not on the hassle of doing the task, but rather on how good you’ll feel once the task is done. Imagine the relief you’ll feel when you cross it off your to-do list!
Schedule the nagging task in your calendar, right alongside your relaxation activities. Then make a commitment to follow through on both the task and the relaxation.
If you need help getting started, reach out to a friend or loved one for encouragement or support. If you can’t think of anyone, you are welcome to message me, and I will gladly cheer you on!
Your reward will be an increase in peace of mind as you head into a new week. This, too, is part of your mental hygiene practice.
To your health!
