Today's Simple Moments, Tomorrow's Treasured Memories
To brush your mind, infuse yourself with good feelings with treasured memories and this will help you stay sane in an insane world.
Walking along the waterfront in San Francisco recently, I was drawn to a small, insistent voice calling out: “Mommy! Daddy!”
It belonged to a little girl in the photo below. Her family and I happened to be walking in the same direction for about five minutes. This allowed me to reflect on the profoundness of their interaction, despite its simplicity.
Life is ever-changing. We rarely recognize the depth and meaning of what we have until it becomes a memory.
Ordinary moments of today—from laughter over a shared joke, to calls for attention, to a quick phone call on the run to a loved one — these are what will one day become the stuff of treasured memories.
The holiday season is not over yet. I invite you to immerse yourself fully in the here and now. Let these seemingly simple moments fully enter into your awareness such that they are imprinted in your heart.
Through mindful awareness of the present moment, you allow for memories that will bring you joy for years to come.
Let go of doing. Instead, consider steping into being — be here, right now, with whoever is in your life, and cherish those fleeting moments.
